WAXING

Awakening Beauty and Skin uses high quality, professional wax from Italy; formulated to be gentle and safe while providing anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties. Here are some tips that are recommended for a successful waxing appointment and at-home regimen:

  • Please plan ahead: If it is your first time or you have shaved in between your wax appointments, please allow your hair to grow at least 3 weeks post shaving.

  • Hair should be at least 1/4 inch (length of a grain of rice).

  • If hair is longer than 1/4 inch, that is okay. Please do not shave or attempt to trim hair.

  • To minimize discomfort, you may Tylenol at least 30 minutes prior to your waxing appointment.

  • Complete Intake Form to inform of any medications or allergies that may affect your service. (Steroids/Antibiotics count!)

  • You may wax during menstruation. But keep in mind the area will be more sensitive and may be more uncomfortable that usual. I simply ask that you arrive to your appointment with a fresh tampon.

  • Waxing while pregnant is safe. It’s always best to consult your doctor before proceeding. Keep in mind that due to pregnancy, your skin may be more sensitive than usual.

  • Gently exfoliate at least 48 hours before your waxing appointment.

  • Save the caffeine/alcohol for after your appointment.

  • Numbing cream is not offered. Should you choose to use numbing cream, use at your own discretion and know that I use a pre-wax cleanser that removes any lotions, oils, etc. that would prevent the wax from properly adhering.

  • Book your next appointment before leaving the studio to accommodate your schedule.

  • DO NOT sun bathe/tan within 24 hours before or after waxing.

  • DO NOT workout/exercise within 24 hours before or after waxing to avoid irritation.

  • DO NOT shave between appointments. Shaving between appointments will mess up your hair growth cycle.

  • Avoid heat (sauna, steam, extremely hot showers, etc.) 24 hours after waxing.

  • After your wax appointment wait at least 2 days to exfoliate skin to avoid irritation.

  • Moisturize waxed skin daily to avoid dryness, irritation and ingrown hairs.

facial

Awakening Beauty & Skin uses high-quality skincare for healthy, youthful skin. Their gentle fruit masks, enzymes, peels, and products are safe for all skin types. Here are some tips that are recommended for a successful facial appointment and at-home regimen:

  • Think about what your skin concerns are and your desired expectations.

  • Consider your current skincare routine, including any makeup products you use. It's helpful if you can name the brands, but it's okay if you don't have a routine or wear makeup.

  • Consider any food allergies, fragrance allergies, or other allergies and medical conditions you've experienced or are currently dealing with. It's crucial because certain skincare products may have ingredients that can trigger a reaction.

  • If you just had Botox, please wait for 2 days before receiving a facial.

  • STOP using RetinA, Alpha Hydroxyl Acids, and Salicylic Acid products for 5 days before your facial.

  • Plan ahead!

    • For important events, schedule your facial 6-8 weeks before and another treatment closer to the date. This gives us time to handle any potential skin reactions. If you're in a hurry, don't worry! I can create a customized service for a healthy glow.

    • Don't exercise after getting a facial. If you're someone who likes to stay active, schedule your facial after your workout.

    • Come before you’re due for an eyelash fill.

  • Please fill out the Intake Form accurately and honestly.

  • Please wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to remove clothing from your waist to your upper body.

  • Don’t skip using moisturizer before your facial and if you have on makeup, it is okay!

  • Wait 3-5 days before exfoliating your skin after a facial.

  • At-home care products recommended by Awakening Beauty and Skin are suggested for optimum results. 70% effective skin care is what you do at home daily, 30% is what is done in the treatment room weekly/monthly.

  • Try to stay without wearing makeup for a minimum of 12-24 hours, if you can.

  • Protect your skin from the sun by spending less time outside and always wearing sunscreen, even on cloudy days.

  • After getting a facial, avoid drinking alcohol and caffeine for at least 12 to 24 hours. It's important to stay hydrated as it helps remove toxins from your skin.
